Between the anniversary of the Pulse shooting and the track record of the current presidential administration when it comes to LGBTQ rights, it’s understandable if Pride feels extra important to you this year. In some ways, celebrations and political action events are needed by the LGBTQ community more than ever. And it can definitely be really heartwarming to see the outpouring of support and solidarity from the cisgender, straight community at events like Pride marches and vigils… but perhaps it’s time to lay down some ground rules for our allies.
